We are in need of the following supplies to stock our classroom makerspaces. If you are able to donate any of the following items please bring them to the school between September 19 - October 7th. Please be sure all items are clean and sorted. Boxes and bins will be set up in the hallway in front of the office for donations. Please have your child bring in the items for donation, their teach will send them down to the collection area.
Thank you for your support! The Makerspace Committee Steve Harmer from Motivational Magic came to our school today giving us a magic show and teaching us about character, being courageous and caring!
Dear Parents/Guardians,
IREC’s annual Terry Fox run will take place on Friday, September 23rd. We are once again raising money not only to support cancer research, but to continue to share Terry’s message of hope, courage and determination. In the past, students have demonstrated incredible spirit by exceeding their fundraising goal every year. Our school wide goal this year is $5000. If students meet this goal, they will participate in a Cosmic Dance on October 7th, during the school day. This year we will NOT be handing out pledge forms for students to take home. Funds will be raised in the following ways:
Thank you for your ongoing support for this great cause. The Grade Ones will be exploring color as part of their science and language arts program in September. To Celebrate their learning we will be having a Rainbow Day Celebration on Wednesday, September 21st. Students are encouraged to dress in rainbow colors on that day and they will be participating in a variety of science experiments. We will be tie-dying shirts to learn about mixing colors so students will need to bring a new or used white shirt from home for this project. Please have shirts at school by Thursday, September 15th. Students are asked to bring $2.00 each to help cover the cost of the science experiments and tie-dye activities. If you are interested in volunteering to help make this day a success please let me know as soon as possible - I am looking for two volunteers! If you have not already, please share your email with me so I can keep you updated about important information!
