Today was 100th day at IREC and to celebrate we did a ton of 100 activities! We started the day with an 100 themed snack, making 100 shaped glasses and seeing how many times we could write our name in 100 seconds! We also did some 100 day centers where we made 100 hand-prints, made a tower out of 100 cups, counted 100 buttons and wrote 100 math facts! It was a busy, busy day! Check some of our pictures!

Today we learned how blubber keeps arctic animals warm! Students put one bare hand in ice cold water and their other hand in our "blubber" glove. Students made predictions to see if they thought the blubber would help keep their hand warmer. Students predictions turned out to be true! The blubber glove helped to keep our hands warm!
Ask you child what animals use blubber to stay warm? We have have become researchers/explorers in 1H, learning all about Polar Bears! Today we learned how to look for important information about Polar Bears and write it in our own words!
We have been learning about what animals do in the winter and how animals either migrate, hibernate or adapt for the winter. Today we became hibernating bears in our dens!
